Today and yesterday were particularly hard for my son and I (the 5 year old) he just doesn't want to listen at all and he acts like he can't leave my side for one second.. I am pretty sure it is because of the baby, he thinks he is going to miss some big life changing thing at some point in the day.. When in reality the biggest thing he may miss is his brother spewing spit up like a fountain (he has acid reflux so bad he is on zantac 3 times a day).. By the end of today I was at my whitts end, considering he kept waking up his brother because he was right in the room with us and yelling at the top of his lungs and lord forbid I go to the bathroom he has to jump up and follow me in there when he did that just so happens he had his angry bird bank on the bed and of course it fell on the floor and shattered.. By the time bed time came around I was soooooo ready but as I was tucking him in he looked up at me and said "I wuv you momma, but espacially on mutha's day" now I know mother's day is still a few weeks away but that little guy just melted my heart.. After I walked out of his room it made my think I complain so much about him not leaving me alone but in a few years he won't want to be around me or even want me around.. He will be going out with friends, getting a job, going to school events, going to prom, the things are endless.. So I need to set back and enjoy these times with him, even the ones that make me want to jump off a cliff because it won' be like this for long.. I will want him to never leave my side, but he will and I will want him to be in the same room with me, but he won't.. Let's face it in a few years he won't even tell me he loves me but mostly on mother's day....

Baby Shower... Baby Boy Elephant Theme...
This is another late blog it is from late november when my mom had my baby shower.. It was so cute and I already had the pics so here it is 5 months later.. Not sure if anyone else does this but for my children I pick an animal for them, my first son was dogs he had so much with dogs on it.. So with my second son I picked elephants, he has quite a few elephant items.. Of course because of this we went with that theme for my shower.. Of course it tured out super cute!!
This is the decor I choose, too cute, right? You can find this at BithdayDirect I highly recommend this website they are very reasonably priced, shipped very quickly and take paypal.. In this pic are the mini centerpieces, a bigger centerpiece, napkins, wall hangings, banner, plates and balloons.. It was all about $36 with shipping, I got a lot of compliments on this theme!!
This is a pic of the favors we gave to the guests.. The kiss labels were from the ebay seller creative_party_labels this is also where I got the labels for the candles (we got the votive holders with the white candles in them at walmart).. The mint favors were from try*here*1st on ebay.. The favor tags and my invitation was made by QTpartyDesigns on etsy, they were the exact theme that was from the birthday direct items.. I don't have a pic but my son had a big brother pin that was made by the seller SpiritThings on etsy, she matched the theme perfectly..
This is a pic of the door prize game.. We took little plastic baby blocks (from dollar tree) and wrote numbers on slips of paper, then put them in the blocks, then the guests all picked a block and I picked the winning number..
Another game we had was the price is right, that is where you take baby items and your guests have to guess the correct amount that each item cost with out going over, who ever has the most correct wins!!The pic above is the table with the items our guests had to guess.. We also played the cotton ball game, that is where you fill a bowl full of cotton balls, then you blind fold your guests and they have to get as many cotton balls as they can in another bowl with a spoon, this game is so funny, you think your getting a bunch but then you realize it was like 2 or 3 (don't have a pic of this one)!!
The pic above is how my tables were decorated,, in the middle are two small elephant centerpieces, with baby boy confetti (bought off ebay), with little plastic booties, rattles, bracelets and carriages (all of these were purchased from dollar tree) filled with the kiss and mint favors..
Then at each place setting was a napkin with the favor bags, an envelope for address for the thank you cards, index cards for the price is right game and a blue pen to write everything with.. I really liked how it turned out my mom didn't spend a lot but it was still really cute!! Most of the items were bought offline or at dollar tree if anything was purchased online I tried to put the link in case anyone was interested.. Hope this helps someone looking for shower ideas!!

Vintage Baby Nursery Theme... On A Budget....
This post is going to be about how I did my vintage nursery on a budget, it is no secret I like a good deal and try my best to save money how ever I can, of course that would not change when doing my son's nursery.. I knew no matter what gender my child was going to be I wanted a vintage themed nursery, it started out with toys but as time went I added childrens books.. I didn't want to put a lot in the room unlike my 1st son's nursery that every empty space on the wall had something on it, don't know if it is age or what but that just didn't seem like the right idea this time around.. Don't get me wrong I loved his nursery too at the time it turned out cute too (may do a post on it later on).. All of the items in my nursery was purchased at yard sales, thrift stores or ebay I really didn't spend that much and I think it turned out really cute!!
This is a look when you walk into the room... On the far wall is a paper mache humpty dumpty (yard sale 1.00) my grandmother got this for me.. Then beside of that are pics drawn by my son and niece of our family with a couple of pics out of an old childrens book (ebay 5.45) I wanted to use old childrens books as the art in the room so I got on ebay and found a few pretty cheap because they were not in the best condition but that was perfect, who wants to tear apart a prestine condition book that is 50 years old? Then we have a curtain that matches my bedding set (more on that later in the blog)..
This is the front wall.. Not much over here cause of the closet but I did put a small book shelf (kmart 19.99) with vintage wooden toys (ebay various prices but none over $10) also have cloth bins (kmart 2.49 on sale) that has the babies toys in them.. Above that is a hallmark picture frame with a quote (yard sale 3.00) and a sticker that say "all because two people fell in love" (yard sale .25) thought that was fitting in the room.. By the way the wall color is butter from walmart I really like how it turned out, since we didn't know the gender when the work started on the room and my 1st son's room was light green we went with the only other neutral color..
Other side wall.. Changing table that I love (kmart clearance $32) I got such a good deal on it, in the bins are his sleepers, blankets, diapers and personal care items.. Above it is a garland I made out of an old childrens book then a few pages out of another childrens book (both of these were under $5 on ebay) the reason they are not framed is since they are over the changing table didn't want to take a chance on them falling off the wall..
This is the back wall.. His crib was actually my oldest sons it is the one thing I didnt get rid of, I think it matches the vintage theme perfectly.. The bedding set is from pottery barn kids I believe the name was spring time bunnies it is a very cute gingham print, it was the first bedding set I seen that just spoke to me.. I got if off of ebay for $56 that includes the curtain from the first pic, quilt, bumper and bed skirt.. The mobile that is in his crib does not go with the bedding it is a baby einstein one but I wanted something colorful to catch his eye (goodwill new in box $10).. I really like how it turned out, it is simple but that is what I was going for.. After all was said and done including renovations we did to the room I spent less than $250 that is very impressive just goes to show what being thrifty can get you!!

But Momma Those Were My Easta Eggs...
Was making breakfast for dinner tonight, when I got the eggs out of the fridge this is what I found..Well not really, they weren't broken but I didn't think to take a pic at the time but you get the idea from this..
Yes those are angry bird stickers on the eggs my son some how got them out and put stickers on them probably when daddy was supposed to be watching him, he does a lot of stuff at those times.. The point of this blog was when my son saw this he went crazy "but momma those were my easta eggs, wook you broke dem, I made dem for de easta bunny" oh and in your head use a whinning crying voice to say it cause that is what I had to hear at the time.. Now because of me the "Easta" bunny is mad at us.. Well excuse me for making dinner well breakfast and I can for certain say the Easter bunny is not mad I know him personally..

Easter 2014!!!...5 Year Old and 3 Month Old...
This is what we got for our almost 5 year old boy and his almost 3 month old baby brother!!! Here is baby brothers Easter basket gifts..
I had been collecting toys since baby brother was in the womb but at the time I was just buying them since they were such good deals there are a couple of items that was bought especially for Easter.. Fisher price elephant shape sorter (bought this at christmas for $5), Fisher price keys (bought at christmas for 2.50), munchkin teether (walmart clearance 2.50), john deere corn messaging teether (peebles sale 6.40), john deere pig rattle (peebles sale 5.60), infantino chick jittery pal (ross 3.99) and scholatic dog book toy (ross clearance 3.49).. Also not pictured was a mam tooth brush teether (kmart clearance 2.24) also the baby first dvd that is pictured in big brothers items (walmart $3).. I usually set a limit of $40 for their Easter gifts (which some people may think that is too much some may do more) since the price for his Easter gift was less than $35 I came in under the budget and for all of the items that is a good deal!!
This is big brothers (almost 5) Easter basket items.. Mickey mouse guitar that is in pic is not going in his basket at the last min. I changed my mind (this is going up for his birthday which is in June) got him a board game he had been asking about instead (pic of that at bottom of post), bunny bubbles (walmart 1.97), pop/catch ball toy (walmart 1.97), barrel of monkeys game (walmart 5.00), egg shaped chalk (walmart 1.97) and the last item in the pic is for them to watch together baby first dvd (walmart $3)..
Since baby brother just drinks formula he didn't get any goodies in his basket and if you can believe it this is dialed back for me lol here is big brothers candy.. bag of skittles (walmart 3.97), reese bunny (food lion 3.99), reese pieces carrot (walmart 1.00), tootsie pops (walmart 1.00), hershey kisses chick (walmart 1.00), m&m egg (walmart 1.00), reese carton eggs (walmart 1.00) and 2 push pop suckers (walmart 1.00 a piece)..
Last year my son started a new tradition for our family he wanted the Easter bunny to hide eggs around our house for him to find on Easter morning (he loves hunting eggs) and since that is all he told the Easter bunny he wanted this year when we went to see him better do it.. So I bought these eggs for us to use every year the big ones have toys the smaller ones have candy and coins in them.. I did add the cost of these in with my older sons gift total.. All together big brothers gift was $40 exactly (i'll never do that again).. Both of their baskets go to show you if you look for clearance/sale deals you can have really nice gifts for a good price!! Hope you and your family have a happy and blessed Easter!!
This is the pic of the game I got him instead of the guitar.. Everytime we would go in kmart he would see this game and want it.. I hardly ever buy games at the store because they are so expensive and since he losses the pieces it is not worth it to me, but this had went on clearance for $12 with 50% off of that then I had gotten an email that my rewards card had $3 on it that I could use on anything, so I used it towards the game, that made the game only $3!!! I was really excited about that since I could get it at such a good deal who cares if he losses any pieces lol.. Plus now I have a jump on his birthday with the purchase of the guitar!!

Holy Moly.... Life Changes....
Has it really been 4 months since I wrote a blog? Why yes it has... Because I HAD A BABY!!!! Yes I did indeed bring a human being into this world in February.. So life has been pretty hectic since then trying to take care of an almost 5 year old and get into a routine with a newborn has had its moments but we made it!! Going to do a little update on life, heres to hoping I continue to blog but as you have seen before it is a crap shoot with me, but I promise to try my best..
To start off my oldest son is FULLY potty trained now of course he has been for about 6 months now but since during my pregnancy I had just enough energy to take care of my son and that was about it I did not blog hardly at all.. Glad that part is out of the way but as I said before, I brought another human being into the world so this will be happening again real soon.. Remember my nursery school blog well that didn't end up going too well my son just did not like it so in January right before the baby was born we took him out and I am not ashamed to say that I was glad it made things so much easier after the baby was here to not have to take him and pick him up.. He is signed up for kindergarten which he will start on August 20th hope it goes alot better than nursery school because you can't quit this, I am also a little sad about this because it means my baby is growing up.. Hopefully it wont be like the nursery school first day disaster of 2013 but I won't be pregnant so it should go smoother.. He is still smart as ever and moody too, he seems to be taking the big brother role pretty well he has his good and bad moments most kids do.. Oh and he has went through 3 nabi's in less than an year (he can thank my dad for getting the for him cause it would have ended at 1 with me) 1st one he sent for a swim (I blame the commercial, this one only lasted 2 months), 2nd one the screen didn't want to work right so he broke it over his head (he clearly has anger issues but so does his dad and I so he gets it honest, this one lasted 7 months) last but not least my dad purchased him the newest one and as of now it has made it but its only been a month we shall see.. Well guess that gets you caught up on my oldest son in the past 6 months..
Now on to the newest addition if you read my other few blogs I did this past year then you already know it was another boy.. You also would know that my pregnancy with him was a little stressful and not the easiest so of course the labor was no picnic either.. Started contractions on a Sunday night at 8:00 pm finally got an epidural at 3:00 am (yes I went all that time in pain) just to have it not take because they put it in my spine which of course caused me to leak spinal fluid which in turn cause a spinal headache (I do not wish that on my worst enemy the pain was way more intense than child birth) so I had another epidural just to have them take it after and hour (has a similar experience with my 1st son except it was only one epidural).. They told me I should only have to push for 30 min. and he would be here (since I was dilated and thinned out so well) um 2 hours later I was still pushing it felt like he was never coming out (I hate the thoughts of a c-section but by then I was begging for it) but the nurse talked me down and 30 min. later I delivered my 10 lb. 5 oz. baby boy (yes you are reading that right my son was over 10 lbs. and I delivered him vaginally with very little pain med, you can say it I am SUPER WOMAN!!!) that is why I was having such a hard time he was so BIG!! He was 21 in. long and he is the best baby ever.. I think after the pregnancy and delivery I deserved that he only cries when he is hungry and fussies a little when he is sleepy.. He is my little chunk and a very happy baby he loves for you to talk to him and play with him in fact he smiles and talks back to you.. He is holding his head up very well, he is always trying to set up.. He is a blessing to our family and very loved..
Not much has changed for my except while I was pregnant not sure how but I lost 20 lbs which of course I a putting back on because I love soda and sweets too much :-/ but I do want to try to drink more water cut out the sweets and start walking with the kids.. Our dog is doing well she has taken the new addition pretty good, she is so funny, she walks up to him gets in his face to sniff him but if I put him near her she runs off like he is going to do something to her.. My sweet chinchilla has passed away though it happened in last September of last year she was 12 years old but it didn't make it any easier my son still asks about her even now, I miss her but animals can't live forever she is in a better place now.. Not much else to update on I hope to keep up with the blog in the future because I was reading through some of my old ones and I was really glad I wrote them, most of the stuff I had forgotten about so it was nice to read back through and remember.. So here's to keeping up the with blog-ashian (this is what I should call it from now on) hope to start up with new things and some old faves (cute and thrifty will be really cute now with baby clothes), of course I can't forget the thrifty Thursdays they were my absolute fave... Come along for the ride there will be laughs and maybe a few tears but it will be a blast.. Thanks for hanging in with me The Economically Thrifty Mommy!!
